Kosuke Furukawa

Director/Cinematographer/Editor 

Award-winning filmmaker Kosuke Furukawa grew up in West Tokyo until his passion for filmmaking compelled him westward to New York. After graduating from Tama Art University in Tokyo, Kosuke continued his studies in film production at Brooklyn College where was drawn to the freer, dynamic, creative environment of New York.

During his time in New York Kosuke has worked on film projects as a producer, writer and director. One of his short, “Uguisu” won Best Short Film and Best Cinematography at International Film Festival Manhattan, 2011’. Kosuke continues to develop new works. 

With years of experience, Kosuke is leaving his mark in the commercial field as well. As a videographer and editor he works in fashion, music and corporate. The enjoy the freedom and challenge of experience with cinematography and storytelling in a commercial framework.

In additional to his production and creative film work, Kosuke co- founded, New York Japan CineFest which sponsored by Asian Society.
